Mechatronics Career Path

63 Credit Hours

The General Technology degree allows students to become multi-skilled technicians by creating an individualized plan to meet their career goals. Students complete the general education curriculum and coursework in at least two technical areas. The primary technical specialty consists of at least 21 credits from an approved degree, diploma, or technical certificate currently offered by the college. Students also complete a minimum of 12 credits in a secondary path with guidance from their faculty advisor.

This career path prepares students for employment as automated controls technicians, electrical and instrumentation technicians, or robotics and automation technicians at manufacturing plants, chemical plants, food and beverage plants, water systems, and energy generation facilities. Students learn to install, maintain, and repair various types of electromechanical automation equipment.

Students can earn only one General Technology degree in a single career path.

Admission into this program requires proof of high school graduation (or GED) and qualifying scores on SAT, ACT or the TTC placement test.
