Marine Engineering Technology Career Path
82 Credits
The General Technology degree allows students to select coursework necessary to become multi-skilled technicians. In addition to completing the college’s core curriculum, students complete coursework in at least two technical areas. The following is an example of a career path available. The secondary paths may be substituted for courses in other programs’ primary paths. Interested students should talk with their advisors.
This career path provides students with the opportunity and fundamental knowledge to work aboard United States Merchant Mariner vessels with the engine department upon completing TTC’s initial coursework in the General Education Core and Primary Technical Specialty requirements. Students receive a comprehensive knowledge of machinery theory and hands-on experience to install, repair and maintain various types of equipment.
Students can earn only one General Technology degree in a single career path.
